Messages. 1,330. 3 Apr 2020. #1. Got an exhaust bracket welded onto my mk4 mondeo last night (battery disconnected) and drove home. Came out this morning to the dash beeping and a "steering malfunction" warning light on. Ive scanned it and there are no codes stored. Disconnected the battery for a while to try amd reset it but still no luck.

Had a problem Tuesday morning, went to start car,Mondeo mk3 130 diesel, battery dead, checked everything and so ordered new battery as had car now for 12 months without problem (electrics only) I checked the current drain after fitting the new battery and got a reading of 0.10 amps.
As with anything software related these days "switch it off and then on again!" This means, make sure you have the keys on you and not inside the car then pull off the battery lead (positive is accessible just don't short the spanner to chassis) for about 30 seconds and then reconnect. Measure the car battery voltage.
