The most important thing that dictates your maximum party size in Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord is your claim tier. One of the first objectives in the game is to rebuild your clan by leveling up with renown, and that’s your ticket to a bigger army. At clan tier 1, you gain an additional 25 units in your party.

A cavalry unit acts as 2 entities because you have the rider and the horse, so if you have a 500 vs 500 cavalry battle, you are at the 2000 entities. So technically you can have a 1023 and the player vs 1024 infantry battle, but no more than that. The engine is capped at 2048 different entities. So people and horses.
You need a high scouting level to be a caravan raider. Party size affects max speed, on top of having extra horses (not pack animals, including sumpter horses). Also more cav in your party. If you're below 50 party size and everyone is either cav or has a mount, the top speed is something like 6.7 without perks.
I want to do a run where every lord has a max party size of like 2000, to create some mega-sized historical-like battles and up the stakes of sieges, armies of like 8k troops forming etc. I can find a few mods that allow you to increase your party size, but I can't seem to find any that do so for the AI.
